This is a wonderful vintage brooch, featuring a Japanned black setting hand set with black rhinestones in a beautiful floral design. Not signed, but I am guesstimating around the 1930s before or after, based the the clasp. It is very hard to picture but these little rhinestones are quite animated with sparkle. Excellent for a black and white occasion, great for a black noir wedding. Also suitable as a mourning accessory.
I spent a good amount of time removing old adhesive that was coating several of the stones. I also replaced 4 of the medium sized stones with stones I had on hand. Someone in the past has added a couple of glass cabochons instead of rhinestones. Three tiny rhinestones are missing, might be 4 but it is very hard to track them, and, I have no stones on hand for replacement. You cannot tell any little stones are missing unless you get up close and really look for them.
Measures 3 3/8 inches long by about 1 3/8 inches wide. Some of the black coating has rubbed down to the base metals at the tips and on the pin-back and clasp, please see images. The pin-back works well and has an ever so slight bend.
